KRYUKOV Valery Alexandrovich

Member of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation

Born on January 14, 1945, in the village of Voskresenka, the Volzhsk District of the Kuibyshev Region.

In 1963, he finished the Zhigulevsk Boarding School No. 1.

He graduated from the A.I. Lyuzikov Saratov Higher Command Engineering School (in 1968); M.I. Kalinin Military Artillery Academy (in 1980); the Russian Administration Academy (in 1993); and the Urals State Academy of Public Administration (in 2002) with a degree in jurisprudence.

In 1963–1994, he served in the Soviet Army (missile forces and the Army artillery). He is a military service veteran.

In 1990–1993, he was a Deputy and Deputy Chairman of the Soviet of People’s Deputies of the Tsentralny District of the City of Chelyabinsk.

In 1993–1995, he was chairman of the organization and analytical committee of the Chelyabinsk City Administration.

In 1995, he was Chairman of the Chelyabinsk City Election Commission.

In 1996–2000, he was Chairman of the Chelyabinsk City Duma of the first convocation.

Since 2000, he was a Deputy of the Third State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and Member of the Committee on Legislation.

Since April 2000, he was Non-Voting Member of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation, representing the Fatherland - All Russia electoral bloc.

On February 12, 2003, he was appointed Member of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation by the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

On March 9, 2007, he was reappointed Member of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation by the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

At the CEC of Russia he is responsible for coordinating the activities to introduce, use and develop the State Automated System of the Russian Federation “Vybory”, including organizing activities of the information center of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation and operations of Web sites of its Internet portal; and supervision of the use of the State Automated System of the Russian Federation “Vybory”.

He was awarded with 2-d Class medal of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, 1 st, 2-d, and 3-d Class Medals for Irreproachable Service, Veteran of the Armed Forces of the USSR Medal, five service medals, and the Certificate of Merit from the State Duma.
