On 9 February 2018, the CEC of Russia hosted an information event for mass media representatives. The event was devoted to organization of work of mass media during the elections of the President of the Russian Federation on 18 March 2018.
Secretary of the CEC of Russia Maya Grishina informed representatives of Russian federal, regional. And international mass media about the procedures of participation of mass media in information support of the elections.
“The CEC of Russia hails those who directly deal with the information support of the elections and, despite the complex nature of the field, manage to find correct decisions which conform to the law,” said Maya Grishina.
The Secretary of the CEC of Russia explained in detail the procedure of accreditation of mass media for work during the elections of the President of the Russian Federation on 18 March 2018 and the mass media’s actions aimed to cover the election campaign, including those at the polling stations.
The second part of the vent was devoted to the procedure of provision of airtime and print space to the registered candidates for the post of the President of Russia.
When answering questions of the mass media representatives, Ms Grishina clarified some specifics of provision of free airtime to the candidates for their electioneering on TV-channels, told about the coverage of candidates’ activities in news, and explained some other issues.
