On March 12 2018 Chairperson of the CEC of Russia Ella Pamfilova met with Jan Petersen, Head of OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) election observation mission for upcoming presidential elections in Russia.
The parties addressed the OSCE ODIHR report presented on March 2 and discussed several issues pertaining to the election campaign monitoring. Ella Pamfilova shared her vision on the report and answered in detail the mission members’ questions regarding various aspects of the ongoing pre-election work.
Featuring 60 long-term observers from 25 countries, the OSCE observation mission monitoring the Russian presidential elections started operations on February 5 2018 in Moscow. OSCE ODIHR is expected to recruit 420 more short-term observers on the election day, March 18 2018.
