Central Election Commission of Russian Federation held 163rd meeting

On 15 June 2018 the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation held its regular meeting.

On Calendar Plan of Actions related to Preparation and Holding of By-Elections of Deputies of the State Duma of the seventh convocation in single-seat constituencies on 9 September 2018

According to Secretary of the CEC of Russia Maya Grishina, the resolution of the CEC of Russia on convocation of by-elections of the State Duma of the seventh convocation in single-seat constituencies on 9 September 2018 has been officially published on 15 June 2018. The election campaign starts from that date.

The Secretary of the CEC of Russia presented a calendar plan of actions related to preparation and holding of the abovementioned by-elections, having stressed the issues related to the dates of nomination and registration of candidates, stages of election campaigning and issues of informing of voters, as well as other sections of the plan.

“Public monitoring and observation of elections is a top-of-the-agenda issue,” Maya Grishina said, “The subjects assigning their observers to monitor elections shall submit to a territorial election commission their lists of observers. The procedure is a bit different from the one used at the presidential elections”.

Maya Grishina informed of the dates of mass media accreditation, the procedure of submission of an application for inclusion of a voter into the voters’ list at their location, as well as announced the dates of determination of the elections’ results.

The CEC of Russia resolved to approve the Calendar Plan of Actions related to Preparation and Holding of By-Elections of Deputies of the State Duma of the seventh convocation in single-seat constituencies on 9 September 2018.
