On 5 March 2020 the Chairperson of the CEC of Russia opened the II All-Russia electoral media forum. Opening the forum Ella Pamfilova said that this year's event coincided with the beginning of preparations for an important historical event for the country – the all-Russia vote:
"The all-Russia vote, initiated by the President of Russia, will be held on 22 April 2020. The CEC of Russia and the country's electoral system are charged with the task of preparing a vote on approving changes to the Constitution of the Russian Federation, and our task as election organizers is to ensure absolute reliability of the vote so that its results are not doubted."
II All-Russia electoral media forum gathered participants from 81 regions of the country: these are representatives of election commissions, journalists, and media observers. This year's innovation was the representation of not only the leadership of regional election commissions but also the staff of the commissions responsible for forming the information agenda in the regions of the Russian Federation.
The Chairperson of the CEC of Russia expressed hope that the media forum will become an effective platform for discussion of topical issues on the information agenda for representatives of the press services of election commissions of the Russian Federation and journalists.
"In our discussions, we will try to answer all your questions, get new knowledge and share professional experience," said Ella Pamfilova. "The all-Russia vote is coming, and we must convey all the necessary information to its participants: what rights and opportunities they have, what are the specifics of the voting procedure and order of actions?"
