On 15 April 2020, a regular meeting of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation was held via videoconference.
During the meeting, the issue of a candidate for appointment as a member of the Moscow City Election Commission with the right to vote was considered. The Commission nominated Olga Kirillova for appointment as a Member of the Moscow City Election Commission, supporting the petition of the Public Chamber of Moscow.
During the meeting, the Chairperson of the CEC of Russia said that members of the Central Election Commission in the current difficult epidemiological situation in the country decided to transfer part of their salaries to charity purposes:
"I thank all colleagues who supported our initiative to transfer at least a quarter of their salary to good causes. We decided to send our funds to volunteers, first of all to medical volunteers who are absolutely directly helping citizens."
Also, according to Ella Pamfilova, a possibility is being considered of providing the collected funds to volunteers who will participate in the trial of a vaccine against the new coronavirus infection.
The Chairperson of the Central Election Commission also called on colleagues in the regions to provide all possible assistance to citizens.
