Completion of Voting in the territory of the Russian Federation in the election of the President of the Russian Federation

At 21:00 Chairman of the CEC of the Russian Federation V.E.Churov announced completion of voting in the territory of the Russian Federation in election of the President of the Russian Federation.

To let the audience monitor the process of vote count in all the territory of the Russian Federation Chairman Churov turned on the monitors of the Election-2008 Information Center which from that moment on and until 10 a.m. on March 3, 2008 will be reflecting the process of entering data from the protocols of precinct election commissions on voting returns in real time.

As of 21:00 (Moscow time) SAS Vybory has received the data from protocols of precinct election commissions on voting returns from 15.82% of polling stations:

Candidate Andrey Vladimirovich BOGDANOV has received 125,218 votes which equals 1.5% of the voters who took part in voting;
Candidate Vladimir Volfovich ZHIRINOVSKY has received 1,070,345 votes which equals 12.76% of the voters who took part in voting;
Candidate Gennady Andreyevich ZIUGANOV has received 1,664,150 votes which equals 19.85% of the voters who took part in voting;
Candidate Dmitry Anatolievich MEDVEDEV has received 5,447,952 votes which equals 64.54% of the voters who took part in voting;

Chairman Churov has provided interim turnout results: as of 19:00 (Moscow time) the turnout was 62.23% - which is higher than the turnout registered in 2004 and 2007 by 19:00 (61.48% and 59.39% accordingly).

Interim election results are being placed at CEC web site and updated constantly as protocol data from polling station commissions is entered in SAS Vybory as running total. These results can be obtained by mobile portal.
