On 21 January 2018, the CEC of Russia starts accepting applications for the accreditation of representatives of the media for attendance at voting premises and in determining results of voting, results of elections in the elections of the President of the Russian Federation on 18 March 2018, as well as on early voting days and on holding repeat voting.
Applications are received from the federal media and mass media registered in two or more regions.
Representatives of foreign mass media accredited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in accordance with the Resolution of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 1055 as of September 13, 1994 On Approval of the Rules of Accreditation and Stay of Foreign Mass Media on the territory of the Russian Federation shall be considered accredited according to the Procedure of Accreditation of Mass Media Representatives for Attendance of the Polling Stations and Establishment of Results of Voting, Determination of Results of Elections of the President of the Russian Federation in 2018.
"--9. To clarify that during the election of the President of the Russian Federation the voting premises formed at the diplomatic missions of the Russian Federation can be attended only by representatives of the mass media accredited in accordance with the Procedure, by representatives of foreign mass media included in the pool of the respective diplomatic missions, by representatives of the Russian media operating in foreign bureaus, on the basis of the existing order in the appropriate diplomatic mission".

To accredit media representatives to the CEC of Russia the following documents are submitted:
- application for accreditation signed by the editor-in-chief, indicating the date of voting, in connection with which it is submitted;
- a copy of the certificate of registration of the media (for a registered media), certified by the editor-in-chief.
Documents are accepted both in paper form (original documents), and in electronic format (scanned documents). Acceptance of applications will last till 18:00 on 7 March 2018.
